 견적(見跡) - 자취발견

견적이란 흔적을 보았다는 것으로 소의 발자국을 본 것이다. 이것은 우리가 가야할 길을 보여주는 것으로 스승들 선인들의 발자취를 찾아가는 것을 의미한다. 향기로운 풀밭에도, 마을에서 먼 깊은 산 속에도 소 발자욱이 있다. 마치 하나의 쇠붙이에서 여러 가지 기구가 나오듯이 수많은 존재가 내 자신의 내부로부터 만들어짐을 배워야 한다는 의미이다.

* 문뜩 강가의 나무 밑에 소 발자취 보이네 아니 향기로운 물밑에도 소 간 자국 뚜렷해 저 멀리 이어져 가네 이제야 나의 코보듯 그 자취 분명 하여라 *

Seeing the Footprints – Discovering the trace

Seeing the footprints means seeing the trace and seeing the footprints of cow. This shows the path we must follow and stands for finding the traces of our masters and virtuous men. Even in a sweet grass field or deep in the mountains far away from the village, there are footprints of cow. Just like many tools come from one piece of iron, it means the countless existences are created from my inner self.

* I suddenly see the foot traces of cow beneath the tree of the riverside. The prints of cow passing by are clear even under the fragrant water to be connected far away. Now the trace is clear just like looking at my own nose*
